webinar === Hey folks, Scott from IT rockstar. Hope you're doing well. If you're looking to generate high quality leads for your cybersecurity business or for your msp, check out it rockstar.net. In this video, we're gonna be talking about live events. Um, question came up recently, um, which I've just replied to. I thought, you know what, this would make a really, um, good video because it's one of these things that's potentially overlooked in your business. And it can actually work really well when it comes to marketing and generating leads. So if you're a an IT business or an MSP or cybersecurity business, this video is for you. Without that further ado, my personal experience of lunch and learns and webinars has actually been really good. I used to do lunch and learns quite a bet when. I was running my own msp. Um, and we always, it always, it just built authority more than anything else in our local area. It just kind of gave us that sort of credibility, um, as opposed to, you know, who's, who's this IT company? I don't really know much about them. They've got a website and maybe spoke to Scott a few times, but, Apart from that, I didn't know much about them. The lunch and learns give you an opportunity to meet potential prospects, allows you to build that sort of local business network and just sort of build some of the authority because you're the one that's gonna be standing up on the stage potentially, and advising and giving some expert advice on topics like cybersecurity. So, We are, um, we, the, the, the question came to us, you know, well, I saw the question actually online. Um, you know, is anyone, anyone doing this? And I used to do it. Uh, but what I've been doing recently, like as of for like this year is I've been around webinars and they've been working really well, um, using, uh, we used to do them all the time, um, with like LinkedIn Live. And, but we started using Microsoft Teams. We've just kind of kept them more, um, more for our members at IT, rockstar, and we'll maybe put out our mailing list as well. Um, and we'll maybe put one or two social media posts out there too. But we found that using Microsoft Teams for these webinars works really well because, When you type, there's a, there's a webinar feature in Teams. It's, uh, been in there for a few years now. So it used to be called live events, but when you create the event within teams, um, it's like a little dropdown box basically. Um, it will actually go and create the landing page for you so you can go and send everyone the link to the landing page. Um, that teams automatically generates. And the cool thing with the landing page, because it's Microsoft Teams, most of your clients are probably gonna be using it anyway. And most of your prospects that you want as clients are gonna be using Microsoft Teams. So they're aware of like the, the branding colors of teams and the fact just how it works in general. So it's kind of something they're already using in their business, so they're more likely to sign up to your webinar, um, if you're running it on teams. The other cool thing is when they put their email address and their name in it actually automatically sends them a meeting invite to the webinar. Now, you don't get that with other platforms like Eventbrite or. Um, zoom, you have to go and download an I iCal file, um, which isn't like, it's, it's not great because then you're having to rely on another step, um, in that process. Um, and the other benefit of it is obviously you've got the recordings. So when you, you run the actual webinar, um, and you've promoted it to your, you know, your, your prospects and your existing clients, you've got the recording there because nine times outta 10, you're like, you have maybe like 50 people that you know, sign up and register onto the webinar. How many of 'em are actually gonna turn up to that date and that time? Um, and it's, it can be quite disheartening, um, if they don't turn up. You know, the last one that we did and we were blown out with the work by the amount of people that joined it. Um, it was like 20 people, which is, is a good number for us. Um, and it was perfect number actually, cuz it's manageable, but there's a lot more people actually signed up for it but never actually attended. So having a little bit of a think about if you are gonna run an event like a, a Lunch and learn or a webinar. What your follow up process will be with both your attendees? So the people that I've attended and also the people that didn't attend. So almost have like two, um, separate follow up processes and kind of decide what they are. Um, and I, you know, the way that we do this, it rock stars as our follow up for people that attended the event, is they get put into our prospects, um, c rm basically our funnel within there, our pipeline within there. We use pipe drive for crm. And they will become a prospect within the CRM because they've listened to me talk for like 60 minutes or one of our guests talk. So they're obviously a technology business that's interested in growing their business and with IT rockstar, and they maybe just need a little bit of a, uh, you know, a hand in deciding, you know, more information and before they join our membership. Um, so. It's worth having that follow up process written down somewhere and what you're gonna do with the prospects, because there's a lot of effort that goes into a webinar or lunch and learn and you, you know, you don't wanna just pull it off. Yeah, okay. You've built some authority, but you actually wanna get something out of it as well. You wanna get a few meetings in the diary. Um, with potential clients. So, and the other, you know, the last thing with this is, is for the people that didn't attend, how are you gonna, um, market to them? So you're gonna send them a recording of the webinar. Are you going to offer them something else? Like, you know, okay, you didn't attend our webinar on cybersecurity, um, however, we'd like to just do a one-to-one with you. You know, we can do an audit for you and just send like an email like that to them. So that's two things to make re, you know, plan as part of this. Cause there's a lot moving pieces when it comes to webinar. Or a lunch and learn, certainly the physical wizard, there's even more moving pieces, and I'm the type of person that's, you know, um, I like to automate as much as possible. So webinars work for me because I'm in a nicher niche. Whereas if you're building a local, you know, you're building your business and you're got sort of a local market that you're servicing and certainly a lunch and learn is definitely way to go. Anyway, that's it for today. Um, thought I'd share that with you. Um, take it easy. Um, if and if you're not already a member of it. Rockstar. Um, check us out. Um, over at it rockstar DO net. We help MSPs and cybersecurity companies grow their business with things like webinars and lunch and learns. Take easy. Bye.
